A Reading for the Spring Equinox

A Reading for the Spring Equinox

My current favorite reading deck is The Dark Mansion Tarot by Taroteca Studios, This is one of those decks that was on my wishlist for a long time. It has that perfect mix of dark whimsy and steampunk aesthetic that I love.

Since it is my current deck of choice (I tend to cycle through them, unless a client chooses a different deck), it was natural to use it for my Spring/Ostara look ahead. My goal for this reading was a general check-in, a look ahead for the next six weeks, and a highlight of any major obstacles, changes, or lessons coming my way.

The Draw

I didn’t choose a fancy layout. Often, these type of readings are a 3 card reading. I ended up with 5 in the reading, because I chose and extra focus/overall card, and another jumped out of the deck to join in on the fun.

So, the cards ended up as:

Overall: Ace of Swords

Position 1: Strength and King of Pentacles

Position 2: Ten of Wands

Position 3: King of Swords

First Impressions

A Major Arcana Card, Strength, two Kings, and an Ace lend to the impression of a significant reading. The Ace and Ten tell me that this is a significant transition time. Something is ending, or has just ended and something new and significant is starting. The Kings represent an inner strength or gifts that are being brought to the party, especially with Strength being the Major Arcana represented in the reading.

The Interpretation

A new phase or transition is happening, and you are leading from a place of knowledge. Cups aren’t represented in the reading. This isn’t a time of emotional charge or turmoil, but one of clear thought and inner resilience. You have worked hard to get to this point (and are willing to continue to do so) but this is where your hard work pays off and your intellect guides your way.
