Choose a Deck for Your Personalized Reading

I’ve been a part of the tarot community since the early digital days—I even served as the webmaster for the American Tarot Association back in the day. Because I’ve been immersed in this world for so long, I’ve been able to curate quite an eclectic collection for you to choose from.

Many of the decks I use, like the rare Bohemian Gothic, were sourced through original community message boards that really defined modern tarot scholarship. I tend to gravitate toward Romantic Gothic, Mythic/Fairy Tale, and High-Detail Digital Art, so you’ll find a lot of rich, evocative imagery here.

This list is a quick inventory so you can pick a deck or a style that feels right for your reading. (I do occasionally gift decks or add new ones from my ever-growing wishlist, but this is a pretty accurate look at the shelf.) 1. The “Modern & Everyday” Selection

These are my favorite ‘working’ decks that I am likely to pull for general readings. For career, relationships, and “what do I do on Monday?” questions.

• The Light Seer’s Tarot: Contemporary imagery for a modern world.
• Halloween Tarot: Hear me out. This sounds like a whimsical fantasy deck, and it is, but it is great for reading for other people.
• Connolly Tarot Deck: Soft, vibrant imagery that avoids the “scary” traditional tropes, making it perfect for sensitive questions or those new to tarot.
• The Modern Witch Tarot Deck: A bold, diverse, and stylish update to the Rider-Waite—perfect for the “modern seeker” who wants to see themselves in the cards.
• Morgan-Greer Tarot: A borderless, lush classic. The deep colors and close-up imagery make the reading feel immersive and immediate.

2. The “Fairy Tale & Inner Child” Selection

For questions about life path, wonder, and healing old wounds.

• Hansen-Robert’s Tarot: One of my very first decks, and still a favorite
• Inner Child Cards: Softening the delivery of tough messages.
• The Mythic Tarot: Characters and stories from the Greek myths.
• Fairy Tale Tarot: Using archetypal stories to explain your current “chapter.”
• The Fairytale Tarot: Different than above, but similar vibe.

3. The “Legacy & Alchemical” Selection

For high-level spiritual growth, “Big Picture” life changes, and esoteric study.

• Legacy of the Divine Tarot (Ciro Marchetti): Visually stunning, high-energy readings.
• *The Alchemical Tarot: High-level symbolism for transformative moments.
• Da Vinci Enigma Tarot: Based on the journals and drawings of Leonardo da Vinci, this deck is for the intellectual seeker who wants to find the hidden patterns in their life.
• The Golden Tarot: Traditional, classic, and authoritative.

4. The “Shadow & Gothic” Selection

For deep shadow work, navigating grief, or “brutally honest” insights.

• *Bohemian Gothic Tarot: A masterpiece of atmosphere. My rarest (in my opinion) and most treasured deck.
• The Somnia Tarot: Not as dark as some of the other decks here, but a very “psychological” type deck. The author refers to it as a dreams and nightmares deck.
• Tarot of Vampyres: Deeply psychological and intense.
• Beauty of Horror Tarot: For those who find wisdom in the macabre.
• Anne Stokes Gothic Tarot: Highly stylized and recognizable.

5. Oracle Decks

• Oracle of Visions by Ciro Marchetti:
• Between the Worlds Oracle: A bridge between the seen and unseen. This deck excels at pinpointing the “liminal” energy—where you are stuck or transitioning.
• The Faerie Oracle (Brian Froud): Chaotic, mischievous, and very grounded in nature.
• The Goddess Card Pack: A celebration of feminine archetypes from across the globe, focusing on empowerment and reclaiming internal strength.
• The Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards: A fast-paced, “old-world” style of divination that feels like a vintage parlor reading.
• Mythic Oracle: A companion to the Mythic Tarot, focusing on the gods and heroes as psychological signposts for your current journey.
• Oracle of Shadows and Light: For the “misfits” and the seekers who find beauty in the unconventional; this deck is sweet, strange, and surprisingly direct.
