Taking Stock of the Soul: Why a Physical Overhaul is Peak Sympathetic Magic

We often talk about spring cleaning as a domestic necessity, but for the practitioner, it is one of the most potent acts of sympathetic magic available to us. As we transition out of the dormant, introspective energy of winter, we often find ourselves surrounded by “clutter”—both the physical kind gathering dust on our altars and the metaphysical kind weighing down our intentions.

Right now, many of us are deep in the “Inventory Phase” (including here literally at the store). Whether you are literally counting stock in your pantry, rotating your seasonal clothes, or simply reorganizing your personal collection of herbs, stones, and tools, you are performing a vital audit.

They say today is for fools, but there’s nothing foolish about knowing exactly what’s in your store (or your soul). This overhaul is about getting so grounded that no prank or planetary shift can knock you off balance.

The Magic of the Count

In sympathetic magic, the physical world and the spiritual world are inextricably linked. When you handle every item you own, you are essentially doing a “check-in” with your current path.

  • Identifying the Stale: That jar of herbs you haven’t touched in two years? That’s stagnant energy. Moving it along—whether by using it, composting it, or gifting it—clears a literal and figurative blockage in your life.
  • The Power of Systems: Creating a new organizational system isn’t just about being “tidy.” It is about building a stable vessel. If you want the universe to pour new opportunities and growth into your life during this cycle, you have to show that you have a structured, ready place to hold them.
  • The Physical Pulse: The effort of the “massive overhaul” gets the blood moving. It shakes off the lethargy of winter. By the time the Pink Moon arrives, your space won’t just look better, it will feel like a circuit that has finally been reconnected.

Preparing for the Pink Moon Pulse

The upcoming Pink Moon is the first full moon of the true spring. It represents the “push” of the first flowers through the soil. If your “soil”—your home, your workshop, your mind—is packed too tight with old, unexamined inventory, that new growth has nowhere to go.

As you go through your overhaul this week, try this:

As you place an item in its new, organized home, say to yourself, “I clear the path for what is coming.” When you find something that no longer serves you, acknowledge it with, “Thank you for the lesson, I release the space.”

How is your “Inventory” going?

Are you finding things you forgot you had? Is the process of clearing out the old pathways feeling like a relief or a challenge? What do you want to make space for in the future?

I’m currently knee-deep in my own physical and spiritual inventory overhaul, putting new systems in place to make sure the energy of this growth cycle has a clear, high-speed lane to run in. I’m working through the back-stock and the dusty corners to ensure that everything we offer is as fresh and potent as the season demands.

Cleaning is the ritual, organization is the intention, and the growth is inevitable. Let’s make sure we have the room to welcome it.

P.S. No pranks here—just the honest, gritty magic of a spring reset. May your path be clear and your (and our) inventory be accurate on the first try.

  1. Nice piece on inventory overhaul—totally resonates with how I see workflow in salons. When you’re clearing clutter, you’re actually paving space for growth. In Suplery we’ve seen pros love how a single dashboard can unify stock, orders, and a built-in shop, so you’re not juggling chaos during a spring reset. The shared cart and real-time stock updates are real game-changers for barbershops and estheticians trying to stay in sync with clients. My statement can be biased, but I’ve noticed that a streamlined platform makes the energy of business flow like that Pink Moon pulse. If you’re rethinking your inventory, check Suplery for faster onboarding and wholesale pricing. Reach out for a starter kit and see the difference.
