Handcrafted Book of Shadows Journal

Description

Each book is hand crafted from beginning to end with authentically old-world techniques. Pages, spine and covers, and cloth are all cut by hand, giving the book a slightly rustic appearance. Pages are hand-sewn and are securely fastened to the covers by a traditional method. Spines are flexible for durability, and are separate from the text block to allow the book to lie flat when writing or reading. Head and tail bands are installed to keep dust at bay. decorative endpapers line the inside of front and back covers and protect the page paper. Covers are double layered: a total of 1/4″ thick archival bookboard to stand up to use and protect their contents. Books are skinned in leathers, velvets, or bookcloths. Each book takes approximately 2 weeks to craft.

Custom crafted large books (9″ x 12″ and 11″ x 14″ are available by special order. These are created with your choices of a wide variety of page paper, endpaper, silk or satin bookmarks. Cover materials are available in many colors of leathers and suedes, velvets, and bookcloths. Custom-crafted books come with 500 sheets/1000 pages. Additional options are a metal clasp in a choice of colors, and an increased number of pages.
