Work the Magic, But Do the Work

Work the Magic, But Do the Work

I have been doing more magic lately and working more with the God and Goddess. So, since I have been renewing my magical practice, and working with a new Deity (Apollo), I often get nudges and demands to move forward in my practice, ie. waking up with a message/nagging thought to do a certain thing. Friday afternoon, when I woke up to get ready for work, I received some not great news in the mundane world. This news while very disappointing was also in conflict with a spell I had recently done.

When I thought about that, I got the message above, “Work the Magic, But Do the Work.” To me this meant, my working/spell wasn’t a bust, or even complete yet, but I am responsible for doing my part to make the magic manifest. The Gods and magic were willing to help, but they are not going to do all of the work for me. I need to do my part in the mundane world to make space for the magic to manifest.

I saw several areas where this was already a theme in my life. It’s a good lesson to keep in mind moving forward. I have let myself get caught in a bit of personal inertia. I’m working with magic again, BUT that doesn’t mean that I don’t have to follow up in the mundane world to do what I can.

It’s a good reminder.

Also, once I dedicated a little more energy to the problem, a solution popped into my head. I was able to resolve the situation successfully, and in my favor, in accordance with the spell I had done. I did the work, and magic worked for me.
